27 – Poorly “Louby-Lou”

We came home on Sunday evening to discover that Louby seemed to have hurt her leg.

An (expensive) trip to the vet and an X-ray showed that she had dislocated it.

The vet manipulated it back into place, so now she is on a course of treatment, and has been ordered to rest for a couple of weeks.  She is still hobbling about on three legs.

So no more jumping up trees for Louby !!!

  1. Dear Luisa, Paolo, and Signorina Louby:

Ziggy and I have succesfully subscribed today to your email update for the blog – then returning to the blog site, we find this! We hope Louby has now made a full recovery in time for Christmas. Is that the most pathetic photo of her, or what!! Enough to make someone to pledge millions for the construction of a new hospital……………….what a cute little hund!

It is snowing here thick and heavy this afternoon – we spent the morning making coconut macaroons for the first time – they turned out beautifully – about 3 dozen of them. Here’s the recipe: 2 egg whites, dash of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract (or whatever kind extract you want!), 1/2 cup of sugar – beat until stiff peaks form. Add in 1 1/2 cups of coconut, and, if you like, a half cup of pecans/walnuts. Fold together into the egg whites. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased/or parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes. Removing cookie sheet from the oven, place on wet towel for a minute, then take cookies off to a towel.

We like your blog so much – everything, the hunds/woof gang, olive production and all your adventures – which are pretty amazing at times! I think they ought to make a tv series out of Tre Cancelle life!
love and merry christmas to all,
    lora & ziggy
